Martin Shkreli Will Drop Unreleased Wu-Tang Clan Music If Donald Trump Wins Presidential Election
Martin Shkreli, the pharmaceutical businessman who purchased the latest Wu-Tang Clan album for $2 million, is trying to incentivize people to vote for Donald Trump by offering to let his entire music collection, including that one-of-one Wu-Tang album, go if Trump wins. "If Trump wins, my entire unreleased music collection, including unheard Nirvana, Beatles, and of course, Wu-Tang, comes out, for free," he wrote on Twitter Wednesday evening (Oct. 26).
While the offer seems tempting, there are much higher stakes for this election than some unreleased music, and when someone responded, telling Shkreli to just release the Wu if Hillary Clinton wins, he instead suggested that he'd break it.
Shkreli has beefed with Wu-Tang members in the past, such as when he appeared on The Breakfast Club and said he would smack Ghostface Killah in the face were he in the studio then. Back in August Shkreli announced that he was planning to drop a rap album, with songs titled "What Dat Mouf Do" and "Bodybags." Peep Shkreli's tweet below, which makes us wonder how certain members of the Wu would feel about their music being used as a pro-Trump tactic.
Election Day is less than two weeks away, Nov. 8th not able to come quick enough. For a sampling of the rappers who have dissed Trump or commented on his campaign, check the gallery below.
