There have been a few eras in hip-hop where Def Jam absolutely ruled the rap landscape. The late '90s was one of those eras. The OG record label had the three hottest rappers in the game on its roster Jay Z, DMX and Ja Rule at the time. There was even word that the trio would start a group called Murder Inc. The prospect of the dream team made for one of the hottest XXL magazine covers (and back covers) of the magazine's tenure in the June 1999 issue.

Unfortunately, for rap fans, the group never materialized, only offering one classic track "Murdergram" which appeared on the Streets Is Watching soundtrack. So, it was like a trip down memory lane when the three platinum rappers reunited last night (Oct. 7) at Beyonce's Formation World Tour finale in New Jersey.

The three rappers kicked it back stage with DJ Khaled, who is Bey's opening act, chopping it up, posing for pics and reminding us how ill a project from the three New York City MCs would have been. It's too late to cry over spilled D'usse, we guess.

Beyonce closed out her massive Formation World Tour with one last show at MetLife Stadium in front of a packed out crowd. As a surprise, she brought out husband Jay Z for perform their hit duet “Drunk in Love.”

The loving power couple performed the hit single while all smiles. “Give it up for my man,” ‘Yonce told the crowd after the set, before sealing the deal with a kiss.
