Police Can’t Find Azealia Banks and Russell Crowe Fight in Surveillance Video
The Azealia Banks and Russell Crowe incident has taken up the majority of the headlines this week, with people and police trying to figure out what really went down in that hotel suite on Saturday night (Oct. 15). Was Banks assaulted by the actor? Or was she wildin' on epic levels and had to be restrained? After looking through security camera footage of the area in which the incident occurred, police are no closer to the concrete truth.
According to TMZ, despite the Beverly Hills hotel where the incident took place being flooded with security cameras, the confrontation was not captured on tape. That leaves authorities where they started, with two very different sides to the story.
Banks claims she was choked and called a "nigger" by the Gladiator actor while she attended his hotel party with RZA. She revealed what happened in a Facebook post writing, “Last night was one of the hardest nights of sleep I’ve had in a long time. The men in the room allowed it to happen. I feel terrible today,” she wrote in the since deleted post, later adding, “Just feel so low and mishandled and alone and fucking depressed right now. I wish I had someone to beat him up for me.”
However, her story contradicts the accounts of everyone else who was in attendance, including RZA. According to eye-witnesses, Azealia laughed at Crowe’s music selection, and called him and at least one other guest “boring white men.” When a woman came to Crowe’s defense, Banks allegedly said, “You would love it if I broke my glass, stabbed you guys in the throat, and blood would squirt everywhere like some real Tarantino shit.”
As sources tell TMZ, when Banks reached for her glass and gave the impression of acting on her threats, Crowe grabbed her in a bear hug and carried her out of the suite, calling hotel security after.
RZA has corroborated Banks assertion that Crowe at least spit at her during the scuffle.
Crowe maintains that he did nothing wrong. Banks filed a battery report following the incident, asking for an apology, but has yet to press charges.
