Donald Glover's new FX series Atlanta has won over viewers and critics alike with its perspective and tone on parenting, employment, friendship and more. It has as well established a level of unpredictability and trust, the vision, whether through story or music, always translating in just the right way. While music has factored in heavily, the show's soundtrack including OJ Da Juiceman, Shabazz Palaces, Kodak Black and others, many wondered if it would as well be a vehicle for new Childish Gambino music, with Glover holding a concert at Joshua Tree and performing new material the weekend before the show's premiere.

The answer to that has largely been no, though a song played at the end of "Nobody Beats the Biebs" reportedly made just for Atlanta prompted a rep for Gambino to say that the song wouldn't be featured on his upcoming Pharos album. With all that said, the above promo for the show was released earlier this week and also features new music. The song is slow, a guitar-driven blues riff cutting through the clip, some of which viewers have seen in previous episodes. As with the previous track, it's hard to say where it will land if anywhere at all, with Glover and the show subverting expectations throughout.

Atlanta airs Tuesday evenings at 10 p.m. EST and was renewed for a second season late last month. The first episode drew 1.8 million total viewers and 1.2 million telecast viewers in the under 50 demographic, that second figure making it first the most-watched debut for any cable comedy since 2013′s Inside Amy Schumer.
