Sorry for the wait: Weezy's lawsuit against Universal Music Group is being put on hold. On July 29, a Federal Court judge ruled that Lil Wayne must resolve his separate lawsuit against Birdman before he continues his claims against Universal.

According to JasmineBrand.com, the judge decided that the cases against Universal and Birdman are too similar. As a result, Wayne must wait until the Baby lawsuit is finished before proceeding with anything else.

Tunechi isn't too happy, because it could be over a year until the Birdman suit is officially over. The Carter rapper replied by saying the two cases are not at all similar, and then he demanded that the judge allow him to continue with both suits.

Young Money Entertainment and Wayne originally sued Universal for more than $20 million in royalties, which were allegedly withheld. Weezy says he helped discover and develop big-name artists including Drake, Nicki Minaj and Tyga. According to his Universal deal, he was supposed to get a solid percent from their recording and other profits.

However, Young Money and Wayne are claiming that UMG withheld a lot of that money to pay off Birdman's enormous advance debt. It should be noted that Wayne's lawsuit against Cash Money Records is for a whopping $51 million.

In case you missed it, Wayne recently rocked a "Fuck Cash Money" hat out in public. Back in May, Weezy had a packed crowd in Colorado chanting "Fuck Cash Money."
