Lil Uzi Vert got more than he bargained for when he tried to run to the stage for his set at Day N Night Festival this past weekend (Aug 14). The pint-sized 2016 XXL Freshman tried to be a man of the people. But when fans of the "Money Longer" rapper realized he was in arms reach, they got overexcited. What started as a friendly group of fans trying to get close to him turned into a full out mob attacking the Philly rock rapper. And, of course, as the madness escalated, someone had their cellphone ready to record the moment. Check it out in the Twitter video above.

It may seem crazy that adoring fans would turn violent on their entertainer, but what's even crazier is that this isn't the first time something like this has happened to Uzi. Earlier this summer, 'The Perfect Luv' rapper had to hop a fence to get away from rabid fans at Hard Summer Festival. Could this mosh pit/escape plan be apart of Uzi's set or does he just not have tight enough security?

While some fans at Day N Night might have been disappointed that they couldn't get a piece of Uzi for themselves, they were no less entertained by the packed hip-hop lineup of Soundcloud upstarts as well as established hitmakers. Taking place at Oak Canyon Ranch in Orange County, Calif., the weekend lineup included performances from Lil Yachty, Vic Mensa, Madeintyo, Metro Boomin, GoldLink and more with A$AP Rocky, Bryson Tiller and Post Malone as headliners.

With summer festival season winding down, here's hoping Uzi Vert fans can contain themselves next time they try to see him live.
