Joey Bada$$ has stretched his talents onto the acting scene as well as the music industry, having landed a role on season two of the drama–thriller television series Mr. Robot. JB plays the role of Leon, whose character is obsessed with the show Seinfeld, but in real life the Brooklyn rapper is not such a fan of the hit sitcom.

Bada$$ recently sat down for an interview with Power 105's The Breakfast Club when the topic of his character loving the show came up. Apparently, he had to watch the whole first season of Seinfeld to help get into character for his role. That still didn't inspire him to rock with the show like that. "It's cool, it's dope, it's just being a black kid growing up that just wasn't my sitcom of choice," he said. "It's funny," he added. "We were too busy watching The Cosby Show, Martin, Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.

Since this interview, Joey has suffered some tragedy. His cousin Terrell Henry was shot and killed in Brooklyn early yesterday (Aug 12) morning.

At the time of the news release, police had no known motive for the murder. The killer fled the scene and remains at large. Terrell Henry was a 22-year-old college student with no criminal record. He was also aspiring FBI agent according to the New York Daily News.

“No words… Just a heavy heart,” Joey Badass wrote about the tragic loss on Instagram. “RIP to my cousin Terrell Henry smh… Through all the positivity there’s always a negative… truly devastated 😞 #ForeverRell #ForeverJR.”
