Fans of mid-2000s gangsta rap rejoice: A new G-Unit mixtape is dropping next week. DJ Whoo Kid, who was the group's official DJ for several years during their ascent to national notoriety, said as much in a recent tweet.

Attached to Whoo Kid's tweet is a clip of an unreleased Young Buck and Kidd Kidd song. As you probably could've guessed, the track sees the two rappers reflecting on their unwillingness to abandon the street life.

According to Whoo Kid, the project is titled The Lost Flash Drive, and Tony Yayo is the person most responsible for pushing its release. While Whoo Kid didn't elaborate too much on the subject, the title points toward the project being comprised of older G-Unit songs that were found on a "lost flash drive." We'll probably be getting more info in the near future.

Whoo Kid's "announcement" comes just a few weeks after he was detained by the NYPD. According to the folks at TMZ, the veteran DJ was arrested because police records showed that he was two years behind on child support payments. Whoo Kid reportedly had to prove that he was up to date on his payments before he was released. Whoo Kid is all good to go. Young Buck isn't.

Back in July, the Tennessee wordsmith was arrested for threatening to burn his ex-girlfriend's house down and eventually kicking in her door. He was arrested shortly afterward, and on Aug. 10 he was sentenced to seven months in prison. It's unclear if this will affect G-Unit or Whoo Kid's plans for the Lost Flash Drive mixtape.
