A few weeks after announcing that his upcoming album Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight will be receiving a film accompaniment, Travis Scott has finally given fans a light at the end of the tunnel, revealing on stage that the album itself will be dropping August 5. La Flame was playing a show at the Coney Island Boardwalk in New York when he let the release date loose, the above clip capturing the scene before Scott got into his Migos and Young Thug-assisted hit "Pick Up the Phone."

That wasn't Scott's only reveal as just before, he played the below song, a new offering potentially from the album. The track repeats the phrase "steady with the groove," which could be its title, and includes such lines as "I got shit to lose / That shit make me nervous / I got shit to lose / Got to keep my cool."

Back in late June, Scott said that his album was coming out "next week," but with a more definitive timetable, expectations can be properly set. Of the Birds in the Trap film, Scott said, “The thing with [Mc]Knight is just, you know, some play shit. You know I’m always into film and I’m doing a short film with this album. I’m putting that out with the album. That’s also what’s taking it so long. I just shot it and shit. And it’s like a long, lengthy film. It’s all the shit that I’ve been doing. All this innovative shit I just wanna do. And there’s even more shit that I’m not gonna speak on now to be impactful.”
