Lil Uzi Vert, Kodak Black, Denzel Curry, Lil Yachty and 21 Savage's Interview

If you let Lil Yachty tell it, every 2016 XXL Freshmen is a member of the most flexin' class to date. And Lil Uzi Vert agrees.

The rising rap stars, who just collaborated on the new joint "Outta Nowhere," are just two out of the 10 distinctly inimitable freshmen this year. ATL native Yachty and Philly rep Uzi are joined by Carol City, Fla.'s Denzel Curry; Cheltenham, Pa.'s Lil Dicky; Harlem's Dave East; Chicago's G Herbo; Pompano Beach, Fla.'s Kodak Black; Atlanta's 21 Savage and Oxnard, Calif.'s Anderson .Paak. If you've already seen their freestyles and cyphers then you know these guys are in a league of their own.

Following the cypher featuring Yachty, Uzi, 21 Savage, Kodak Black and Denzel Curry, the five rappers take part in a roundtable discussion to talk fame, their musical formula and their fans. "This might be the most flexin' class that y'all done had," Lil Boat tells XXL. "Yeah, y'all talkin' all that freestyle stuff, man, we just flexin," Uzi reaffirms.

One thing all five of these freshmen do as a unit is stay in their own lane. Denzel's lyrical ammunition hits hard on his Imperial album while Kodak Black proves his worth on his latest mixtape Lil Big Pac. 21 Savage crafts bangers for the gangstas with his Slaughter King tape and Uzi can kick a mean 16, flex on joints like "Money Longer" or stunt with his recent effort Lil Uzi Vert vs. the World. Then there's Yachty, who earned the 10th spot position in the XXL Freshman class this year. His Lil Boat tape featuring tracks like "Minnesota" and "1 Night" is the soundtrack for the youth.

"Everybody wanna be in the lane, and they know you ain't nothing but a clone," Uzi states. "Clone ass nigga," 21 Savage declares. Gucci Mane would be proud.
