Danny Brown Reveals New Album Title, Announces Tour

It's been nearly three years since Danny Brown dropped Old, but the Detroit rapper is returning with his long-awaited follow-up, announcing on Twitter that his new album will be called Atrocity Exhibition. "This is the way!!!! ..... Step inside!!!!" he wrote late Sunday night. The title comes from a 1970 novel by J. G. Ballard which likewise inspired a 1980 song by post-punk band Joy Division, two facts that Danny makes clear to one fan he knew prior.

In March, Fool's Gold bossman Nick Catchdubs revealed that Danny was done recording his new album, and in June, DB posted a photo of himself alongside TDE engineer Derek “MixedByAli” Ali, writing, "Me and the bruh bruh @mixedbyali putting the final touches on my next masterpiece. A few days later, Danny spoke with Zane Lowe about what fans can expect from the new work, saying "With this album, it’s really about, pretty much after XXX was over with and me making Old, and what I was going through around that time. Every album is like a documentary. With Old, it was about going back and then taking you to the future. So this one picks up pretty much right after XXX, I would say.” Around that same time, Brown dropped the single "When It Rains."

Atrocity Exhibition doesn't yet have a release date but based on new tour information on the rapper's site (included below) a late summer, early fall release seems a fair expectation. Peep those dates as well as Danny's Twitter announcement below.
