Cam’ron Attends Funeral of Gerard Woodley, Big L’s Alleged Killer

Two weeks ago, news broke that Gerard Woodley, the man long suspected of killing Big L in 1999, was shot and killed in Harlem. Woodley, who had been a childhood friend of L’s, was arrested as a suspect in the murder in May of 1999, but was eventually let go for lack of evidence. Woodley's funeral was held earlier this week and based on the above Instagram post, Cam'ron, who was once in a group with Big L and Mase known as Children of the Corn, was in attendance.

"Me and Kev at G-LOVE funeral Rip #139st" Cam wrote beneath the photo, while on Twitter he said, "Another day, another funeral." At the time of Woodley's passing, Cam shared a collaged photo (included below) featuring Woodley and L, writing, "All born on 139st.. All died on 139st. Smh..damn..Rip my niggas!!" L was shot on W. 139th st., the same street where Woodley lived, only a few blocks from where Woodley would be shot, some 17 years later.

Two wrongs certainly do not make a right and while Big L's loss to hip-hop continues to be felt, his lyrical dexterity and precision a force yet to be matched, it would appear that Cam'ron mourns Woodley's passing just as well, a loss for his community regardless of allegations and speculation. Sources say that the 46-year-old Woodley was suspected of four other homicides besides L’s, and there have yet to any immediate arrests in the case of his murder.
