In a new interview with Rolling Stone, Future reveals that DJ Esco motivated him to start making street music again. The Atlanta rapper also delves into his relationship with Ciara and basically dismisses a question about Desiigner jacking his style.

According to Rolling Stone, DJ Esco told Future to go back to his roots and start making street records again after his split with Ciara and the lukewarm response to Honest. The decision paid off, to say the least.

Future tells the publication, "I remember Esco going, 'You need to spend time in the studio and get back to creating. Block all that shit out. You going through a lot right now. Turn that shit into music, or it's gonna get the best of you.' Because everything's popping up in the media. Every day, it's something. It was getting bigger than my music."

""I told him, 'We didn't get here doing this kind of music,'" remembers Esco. "'Let me remind you what kind of music we used to do.'"

Since Future and Ciara's split in 2014, Ciara has gotten engaged to Russell Wilson and sued Future for libel. Ciara and Future currently share custody rights of baby Future.

Future tells Rolling Stone that he uses the studio as an escape from issues in his personal life. He says, "I can't deal with it. I can't even think about it. I never imagined my life would be like that: 'I'm going to sue you and take away from you.' I don't know how to deal with something like that. All I know is record, record, record, record."

The Dirty Sprite rapper also denies wishing failure upon Ciara. Future says, "I would never wish that. Her being successful, her being happy, helps me. I'm attached to you. If you're happy, I'm happy. You're connected for life. I don't want you to go through this shit and for it to come back on my son, my kid. I want you to be in the best situation."

He also speaks about Wilson spending time with his son, saying, "It's something that'll take more time for me. It ain't even about [Wilson] playing daddy. I don't even want to think about it. That's my son forever. My son is going to be able to read this. He's going to be able to look at those pictures. He's going to be able to have a judgment for himself, and have a conversation with me man-to-man. That's my blood. He is me. I am him. We is one."

When Rolling Stone asks him about Desiigner's eerily similar voice inflection and flow, Future simply states, "I'm never worried about anyone else ... I don't even want his name in the article."
