Yes, Desiigner's got more than "Panda" up his sleeve. The 19-year-old Brooklyn upstart and recently crowned 2016 XXL Freshman officially unveiled the name of his first mixtape. Desiigner's first tape will be called New English. The G.O.O.D. Music signee made the mixtape announcement today (June 22) through Def Jam Recordings. A listening party is being held for the project tonight in NYC.

Bed Stuy's own struck hip-hop gold last year when his breakout single "Panda" became a viral hit. The banger went on to be sampled by Kanye West on 'Ye's latest album, The Life of Pablo, was remixed by notable names like Fabolous, Lil Kim, Meek Mill and Lupe Fiasco and even spent one glorious week at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Though some fans claim Desiigner is biting the rap style of ATL's Future, you can't argue with the track's success. As of today, "Panda" has officially charted higher than any of Future's solo singles ever have.

Since signing with G.O.O.D. Music, Desiigner has been spotted in the studio with Pusha T and Kanye West. This is a positive sign for the young MC's musical influence moving forward. In previous interviews, he's said his debut album will be titled Life of Desiigner, similar to his social media handles. There's no release date set yet for the tape or the album, but with the announcement of New English, fans will at least rest assured Desiigner won't be a pegged as a "one-hit wonder" for long.
