Atlanta has become the breeding ground for some of rap's most bizarre, unorthodox and talented MC's. With projects like I'm A Piece of Sh*t, Papicodone and Who's Gonna Get Fucked First, Father is just one example of this strange new breed and it's time more of his kind get their shine. That's exactly why Boiler Room TV went down to Atlanta to meet the team for a new documentary called Awful Days.

The doc, which looks every bit as gritty as the label they're showcasing, chronicles the rise of Awful Records with an emphasis on the background of each member of the crew. With backyard head banging, inconspicuous double-cupping and recording studio hijinx all caught on camera, the doc aims to give viewers a snapshot of what Boiler Room calls the "bizarre, fascinating culture shock" of the new Atlanta.

"We're not outsiders, like, we don't fuck with people. We're outsiders 'cuz we're different," says one interviewee over shots of an Awful party. Tommy Genesis, Lui Diamonds, RichPoSlim and more make appearances in the film's preview.

"Watching it now is a little crazy, but at the time it was just regular," said Father of the new doc. "It was just Awful doing what we do every day."

Directed by Joe Alexander and produced by Boiler Room, Awful Days will premiere in all its glory on Friday June 17 at 7 P.M. E.S.T. live from Brooklyn. It'll also be streamed on Boiler Room's site. Peep the trailer for the documentary above.
