Oh what a tangled web we weave through subliminal disses, podcast call outs and Instagram leaks. There's a growing suspicion that Drake is poised to send shots Joe Budden's way, and based on videos posted to Instagram on Wednesday, Budden seems unfazed and cool about the prospect.

Speaking on his own "I'll Name This Podcast Later," Budden said last week (May 4) that he found Drake's Views to be "uninspired." "That music sounds good and I enjoyed it…40, you sound amazing," he said. "40 continues to progress. Drake, you do not.” Known to be eager with the clap back, many wondered if Drake would respond, and in a video posted to Instagram by French Montana, Drake can be heard, on a collaborative track, starting his verse with "pump, pump it."

That small teaser has some in Budden's camp expecting a verse from Drake, though Budden himself is less sure. “There’s no reason for any artist to start a verse with 'pump, pump it up' other than I got something to say to you know who," a man named Mal says in the first of two videos posted by Joe. "Y’all are so narrow minded," Budden responds, allowing for the Drake ad-libs, a supposed reference to Budden's 2003 single, to be a sign of respect or homage.

Throughout the clips, Joe is calm and collected, correcting Mal that the snippet wasn't necessarily from a Drake record and dismissing the connections made between the podcast and the French snippet. “First of all its not a verse coming number one," he says, "and if a verse do come all that means is I inspired him like my goal was anyway."

Watch the two clips above and below and stay on the look out for that French and Drake joint, for as Budden notes, the last record they were both on, "Stay Schemin," ended poorly for Drake's opponent.
