Is it nature or nurture that produces five-year-old musical prodigies? It's likely a combination of the two in the case of Egypt, Swizz Beatz's five-year-old son who, seemingly out of nowhere, received a production credit on Kendrick Lamar's untitled unmastered. There's no doubt that Egypt's dad is able to coordinate some life-changing apprenticeships for the young lad, with a video uploaded to Instagram on Sunday (April 17) showing the tyke in the lab with Q-Tip.

The studio session looks to be pretty casual, with Egypt, wearing a Bathing Ape varsity jacket, playing a synth pad as Q-Tip offers words of encouragement. "Rock out...ok...come on," he says as E checks in with his dad. Swizz captioned the video with "#egybeatz & Q Tip... The teacher & the student pure vibes…..”

What's most clear from the above video and Egypt's young but promising career as a producer is how overjoyed Swizz is by it all. In March, when Swizz shared that Egypt had worked on Kendrick's latest, he wrote, “This is the best Dad moment everrrrr!!!” His laughs in the video above echo that same sentiment, an air of disbelief perhaps joining it as Egypt stands side-by-side with the Tribe Called Quest legend.

Egypt is building quite the rolodex of famous collaborators, with the Kendrick connection dating back to February's Super Bowl, where Swizz filmed the two together, writing, "Egypt holding court selling Beatz to Kendrick." At the time, the comment seemed a joke, but now who's to really say what these connections could lead to.
