With the matter of jokingly choking Justin Bieber behind him, Post Malone can get back to the music, which this weekend meant a surprise appearance at Coachella and a cover of Nirvana's 1992 hit song "Lithium." We've seen Post use the guitar to pay tribute before, as he covered Kanye West's "Heartless" back in November during a stop to the BBC studios.

In the Instagram video above, Post sings a few measures of the Nirvana track from their influential album Nevermind. The "White Iverson" singer has demonstrated his instrumentation in the past, and said earlier in the year that the video game Guitar Hero helped pique his interest in music.

"I started making music… I guess I was 12 and I started playing Guitar Hero,” he told Snoop Dogg during the rapper's GGN web series.. “And you know, it got to a point where on expert, you can only exceed to a certain point. And so you know, I was like let’s play real guitar. Let’s not waste more time. So, I got my mom, I told her to buy me a guitar for Christmas and I started making music then.”

Post is currently on tour with Bieber in support of the singer's Purpose album, and promised fans that he'd have a new project dropping soon, with the cover art included below. The two hit the midwest this week, with shows in St. Louis, Kentucky and Illinois.
