At 26 years old, Gaithersburg, Md. native Logic has managed to secure a record deal with Def Jam off a mixtape, drop two critically acclaimed albums in less than three years and defy industry standards of what a "rapper" is. The outer space-obsessed, Rubik's cube-solving king of the turn down manages to connect with thousands of fans online and in person. His sold-out show in New York served as living proof of the latter Friday night (April 1).

Besides the rain, humidity and fire alarm going off across the street, the line outside Terminal 5 to see The Incredible World Tour was a mosh posh of orderly excitement. There was no clear cut demographic to the crowd inside, only a shared sense of fandom. The age range spanned from pre-teen to post-college with every race accounted for. Interestingly enough, the parents in the crowd seemed just as excited to see the DMV rhymer as the kids they were chaperoning. To draw a crowd of this type is a good sign for any artist, let alone one as unorthodox as Logic.

Before the Ratt Pack leader made his appearance, opener Dizzy Wright rocked the crowd filing in with his own brand of showmanship. Aided by a guitarist, drummer and DJ, the Las Vegas MC and former XXL Freshmen won over the crowd with his warm, smiley stage presence and his latest EP, Wisdom & Good Vibes.

By 9:45 p.m., DJ Rhetorik, Logic's resident DJ and hype man, boosted morale with formidable bangers from Travis Scott, J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar all while perched atop a huge scaffolding equipped with an LED screen. Taking T5 on a space odyssey from the minute he came out at 10:15 p.m., the former XXL Freshman raced through strobes to hit center stage in his signature space suit and lifted the crowd to new heights. Running through cuts off 2015's The Incredible True Story ("Fade Away," "Paradise," "Like Woah,"), Logic took time to check if his fans were hydrating and taking care of one another in the crowd.

"Everyone look to your left," Logic instructed towards the beginning of his set. "Look to the person on your left and look to the person on your right. Even, if you don't know that person, tonight, they're your motherfuckin' family."

It was that type of lighthearted camaraderie that Logic carried through the entire show. Bringing out his Visionary Music Group label mate Big Lenbo for the album's lead single, "Young Jesus," the two set the place off with their lyrical acrobatics and antics to match.

The Incredible True Story was easily one of the strongest hip-hop albums that dropped last year. With one of the coolest concepts out (a space odyssey playlist for a journey 100 years in the future), bitingly quick-tongued lyricism and crisp production from Logic's go-to beatsmith 6ix, the sophomore LP made a big splash in the fourth quarter and ended up on many of the year's "Best of" lists.

With just two U.S. dates left on his tour, Ratt Pack's head honcho will take his sonic journey overseas. If you can, try to catch a glimpse before he's gone. His meteoric success slows for no one. Check out exclusive pics from last night's show above and social media coverage below.
