Let's add Kodak Black to the long list of young rappers antagonizing older hip-hop fans with a bold statement. The Florida rapper went on Twitter today (April 5) to claim that he's better than two of the biggest names in hip-hop.

"I'm better than Pac and Biggie," Kodak Black wrote.

This claim is sure to turn some heads, but it might be a rash move to simply dismiss Kodak Black as another young artist who does not appreciate those who came before him. The Pompano Beach native previously told XXL that he grew up listening to Nas.

"He wasn’t really my generation but I grew up around older people so I branched off of Nas," Kodak Black said.

Kodak Black has some strong opinions, as he's not swayed by what's popular. In a recent documentary about the Floridian, the rapper explained why he largely dismissed a notable co-sign he received from Drake.

"I heard about, but I didn’t know what that did," Kodak said. "I just knew that was Drake, so… You trying to show you fuck with me or what? We ain’t never talked on the phone, like he was texting me and shit. I’m direct with it. So, if you’re trying to show me that you fuck with me, call me. Throw me on your album so I can get me some royalties."

Kodak Black might anger a lot of people with boasts that he's already better than legends, but he is clearly not in the mindset of being deferential to hip-hop's biggest names. Hear him kill Goodie Mob's "Cell Therapy" in a freestyle to see how he sits on a '90s beat.
