The entire music world was saddened yesterday was news broke that iconic musician Prince had passed away at the age of 57. There was an outpouring of emotion from many in the hip-hop community, with Game dropping the above track titled "Rest in Purple" in honor of the late, great Prince.

Produced by Bongo By the Way and featuring Lorine Chia, "Rest in Purple" finds Game solemn and reflecting on Prince's impact culturally as well as personally. He begins th track rapping, "Why everybody gotta die so damn soon?  / All these legends dying, god gotta be running out of room" and later, he equates Prince's passing to that of Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston.

In perhaps the most personal moment on the track though, Game remembers watching Prince's 1984 film Purple Rain and identifying with it. "I remember watching Purple Rain when I was five / My mom and dad fought the same way as yours I ain’t understand why / Ain’t nobody perfect, ain’t none of us the same / We all want to leave the past behind and sometimes we change our names," he raps.

Game likewise took to Instagram to remember the fallen artist, writing, "Prince was such a huge inspiration to my life from a child watching Purple Rain till the time I met him at Universal Music in 2006."
