Drake Begins ‘Views From the 6′ Rollout in London

Views SZN is officially upon us. Earlier this week Drake released two new singles - "Pop Style" with Jay Z and Kanye and "One Dance" with Wizkid and Kyla. Now he's projecting an image onto a building in London - and it looks awfully familiar.

You'll notice the 6 logo above from the "Summer Sixteen" cover art, but with the colors inverted. Fader is reporting that Republic Records says it's the cover for the album, but that seems unlikely; record labels aren't as up to date on these things as management teams are, and the image above looks more like a promotional image than an official, square album cover.

Slowly but surely, April is shaping up to be Drake's month. Last week an island-sounding song called "Controlla" leaked featuring OVO's resident dancehall artist Popcaan. "One Dance" is like that record on steroids. "Pop Style," despite pulling The Throne for features, hasn't made as much of an immediate splash as some might have expected.

You have to look closely at Drake's trajectory post-"Hotline Bling" to understand where he's at right now. After that song became a surprise hit, Drake's been looking for another huge song and he's yet to key on it. "Summer Sixteen" was the fizzle after the pop that was the Meek Mill beef, so something bigger has to be in store. But if Drake's already peaked, then he might be getting too comfortable with his own success - and that's a recipe for disaster.

Meanwhile, Meek is slowly creeping up from house arrest, between his verse on Young Thug's "Digits" and a new freestyle over "Summer Sixteen" and "Panda." Could the stage be set for the underdog to triump? Only time will tell.
