Common last put out an album in 2014 with Nobody's Smiling. After taking some time to focus on acting, it looks like he is gearing up to drop some new music in the very near future.

Com recently took to Twitter and posted a photo which shows himself and producer Karriem Riggins in the studio working on new tunes. "In the studio with @karriemriggins1 . New music coming real soon! #braceyourselves," he captioned the pic.

For those unfamiliar with Riggins, the Detroit-born, L.A.-based composer has an extensive background in jazz and has also produced tracks for such hip-hop artists as Slum Village, J Dilla, The Roots, Kanye West, Talib Kweli, Consequence and Dwele.

He and Common have previously worked together on the tracks "Play Your Cards Right," a bonus cut off the Finding Forever album, "It's Your World (Part 1 & 2)" off Be, and "The Hustle" from Electric Circus.

Common has spent the better part of the last two years padding his acting resume. He recently had roles in the film Barbershop 3 and the live stage play The Wiz.

Last October he inked a 2-year deal with HBO for his production company Freedom Roads. The deal gives HBO exclusive first-look rights at any projects that Common develops through his company.

He also landed a major role in the John Wick sequel alongside Keanu Reeves.

The Windy City MC/actor also played James Bevel in 2014’s critically acclaimed film Selma, starred in the Liam Neeson-led Run All Night last year and had a role in the drama Every Secret Thing alongside Elizabeth Banks.

For now, it looks like music is on the mind.
