It's only been about a month since 2 Chainz and Lil Wayne dropped ColleGrove, but the artist formerly known as Tity Boi is getting right back to work. Having already dropped a project with the man who was helpful in launching his career, Chainz is gearing up to drop a new solo joint in 2016.

"I'm dropping another album this year," he told Rolling Stone. "More in-depth, more feeling, more storytelling. Just some more emotion on this album. It is going to be more personal, it's time for that. I got things that are hard for me to communicate about, but music is very therapeutic for me. I have some things that I just really, really need to get off my chest, and by me not actually having a counselor — the booth is that for me. It's time for me to unlock my heart, it's time for to release all these emotions I've been through, from my days of 13, 14, 15, to now my thirties, it's just time for me... to spread my wings and let them know this me, this is the reason why I am this way. That's what it is."

Elsewhere in the interview, the "I'm Different" MC spoke on how important his relationship with Weezy is to him and how he remained in touch with Wayne during his prison time in New York's Rikers Island.

"Just think, the 'Dufflebag Boy' video is '07. The boy done tell me, 'Thank you for letting me shoot the video with my cup, they normally tell 'em I can't have my cups in the video.' This is a time where they tell you what you can put in and out the video," he explained. "This is nine or 10 years ago. We've known each other for almost 15 years. Just like honestly bro, it's genuine, it's very organic, we communicate a lot, even when he went down for some time when he went to Rikers, we were in communication with each other. It's not that I'm trying to out-relationship nobody when it comes to Tune, we are what we are to each other. That's like my brother, I speak highly of him. That's just how I am, that's how I'm raised. I'm one of those standup Southern guys, you know."

If this rapping thing doesn't work out for 2 Chainz, he has a career as a political commentator to fall back on. The G.O.O.D. Music artist has been a regular guest on Comedy Central's The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore for his "2 Chainz Explainz" segment where he talks about the 2016 presidential election and breaks down political terms that may fly over people's heads.
