Not one to be left out of the music streaming wars already underway between Tidal, Spotify and Apple Music, SoundCloud has announced on Tuesday (Mar. 29) that the music sharing platform will be launching a subscription service all its own. Titled SoundCloud Go, the subscription service will offer a larger catalog of music, offline streaming capabilities and ad-free listening.

The subscription service is available in the U.S. for $9.99 a month, though a 30 day free trial is available as well. While the above advertorial video is super busy, it does hint at some of the enhanced access listeners can anticipate.

News of the subscription service launch comes just a few months after word broke that SoundCloud had reached a licensing deal with Universal Music Group to gain access to their catalog. At the time, Stephen Bryan, Chief Officer for SoundCloud, told Billboard, “One of the core components of our relationship with the industry is a new push within the deals that will enable the monetization of user-generated content like remixes and mashups,” Stephen Bryan said. “We’ve created a very unique ecosystem. Through these deals we have the right incentives in place.”

More recently, SoundCloud announced a new stations function which will allow users to discover new music more fluidly. All in all, it sounds like SoundCloud is stepping up it's user experience in a major way.
