Queen Latifah is getting involved with the Travel Channel. Deadline reports that Latifah and Shakim Compere's Flavor Unit will be producing a new show called The Best Place to Be, which is scheduled to premiere in July. The following is the official premise for the upcoming show.

"The Best Place to Be' follows A-List celebrities as they take us on an all-access trip to their favorite cities around the world. From the moment they touch down, some of the world’s biggest stars take us off the beaten path to show us their favorite places to eat, drink, shop and sightsee."

It is not clear at this point whether Queen Latifah will appear in front of the camera on this new series or if she will simply be involved as a producer. The "U.N.I.T.Y." rapper has found plenty of success in the television realm of late, particularly from her work in the critically acclaimed HBO TV film Bessie.

Last month, Queen Latifah won the award for Best Actress at the 2016 SAG Awards for her role as blue singer Bessie Smith. She also nabbed the Outstanding Actress in a Television Movie award at the 2016 NAACP Image Awards.

In regards to her personal life, the New Jersey native has recently entertained the idea of motherhood. Queen Latifah spoke to E! Online about the possibility of becoming a mother.

"I’m a little bit of a procrastinator," she said. "I had some things to deal with. I had to get a lot of partying out of my system early in life for about 40 years. You know what I’m saying. I’m good now. I think I’m ready."

Queen Latifah stated that she's keeping her options open as she might adopt a child since "there are a lot of kids that need love out there."
