Open Mike Eagle has teamed up with UK producer Paul White for the new collaboration album Hella Personal Film Festival. This LP arrives sequentially after Open Mike Eagle's 2015 Cavanaugh project with Chicago rapper Serengeti, but is said to be more of a proper follow-up to his 2014 album Dark Comedy.

Hella Personal Film Festival truly hones in on the dynamic between Open Mike Eagle and Paul White as the duo keeps the album light on guest appearances. Aesop Rock and Hemlock Ernst represent the only guests involved in the project.

The album sees Open Mike Eagle exploring a variety of topics with a keen sense of insight that has become a trademark of his work. Everything from the black identity to the use of social media is covered here by the Chicago native. And Open Mike Eagle's rhymes are only bolstered by the lush soundscapes that Paul White concocts for him.

With a new album to promote, Open Mike Eagle will also be hitting the road later this month for a short tour. Things kick off in Los Angeles before wrapping up in Oklahoma at the Norman Music Fest. Check out the full list of dates below.
