Michael Jordan Denies N.O.R.E.’s Story Claiming He Hates Rap Music

Earlier this week, the greatest interview in hip-hop N.O.R.E. let go of a classic story on the RapRadar podcast. He said that at a Christmas party for Def Jam back in the day, Your Flyness himself Michael Jordan was in attendance. Rappers like Red and Meth lined up to talk to him, but according to Noreaga, MJ said "fuck rap" and declined. N.O.R.E. also claimed MJ only listens to Hov.

Now the story has gotten so big that TMZ reached out to Jordan's reps for comment and got a contradicting account. Estee Portnoy, the representative for Jordan, told TMZ Sports, ""MJ wasn’t at this party, doesn’t know N.O.R.E., and is a fan of ALL music. Drake is in his brand, and Nelly is a partner of his with the Charlotte Hornets." Zing!

TMZ also points out that last year MJ was caught dancing to some rap last year, footage of which you can see below.

In the original interview above, N.O.R.E. says, "Jordan is a hater of hip-hop. He only likes Hov. That's it. I seen him shut Redman down at Def Jam Christmas party. We were all sitting there waiting to speak to Michael Jordan and niggas said, 'Redman and Method Man is here,' [Jordan] said, 'Fuck rap.' Seent the nigga say that. Fuck it, quote me." Later, N.O.R.E. says that hurt him. You can just picture the Lefrak MC being kind of bent, hoping to talk to the icon, only to get rejected.

N.O.R.E. might have been hurt by Jordan, but apparently the G.O.A.T. was also pretty hurt by Noreaga's accusations. Somewhere, Hov is smiling.
