Lil Yachty has officially arrived. The Atlanta rapper who's best known for quirky songs like "1Night" and "Minnesota" just released his debut mixtape Lil Boat The Mixtape and it features some of ATL's brightest stars like Young Thug, Quavo, and Skippa da Flippa.

Here Yachty actually recruits those three for a remix to "Minnesota," as the whole trio goes off on the fun sing-song track. There's also a new version of "1Night" on the tape, as well as production work from Atlanta stalwarts like Slade and Ducko Mcfli.

In a recent interview with Fader, Yachty gave some insight into his accelerated ascension in the rap game. After graduating from high school he moved to New York, where he set upon the mission of reaching tastemakers in the city. "I knew I had to reach the people with the following, and the groupies and shit," he says. "I had to get to them. The kids look up to those people. That was the first step.” He's also being managed by Solid Foundation, the management company founded by Coach K, former manager of Gucci and current head of Quality Control along with P.

He's certainly been grabbing eyes with his red hair and was even front and center at Kanye's Yeezy Season 3 show at MSG along with Ian Connor and Young Thug. But his voice also has a very unique texture and he's making songs that both capture the current sound and help it drift further into no man's land. So far, it's been working wonders for him.
