Lil Wayne and Birdman Still Have Beef According to Mannie Fresh

Lil Wayne may have resolved his issues with Mannie Fresh and reunited with him and former Hot Boy Juvenile on “Hate,” but according to Fresh, Weezy and Birdman still have issues. However, the internal drama didn’t stop the Big Tymers producer from working with his old squad.

Manny chopped it up with Genius and opened up about how he reunited the crew and navigated through the Cash Money/Young Money beef to create “Hate.” "Everything is not resolved with [Birdman] and Wayne, but I overcame it by saying to them, ‘We can resolve all that behind the curtain, but for now, let’s make music for the people,'” Fresh said. Ironically “Hate” brought back memories of the old days and they buried the hatchet for a the time it took to create the jam. “When it all started coming together, the brotherly love came out. We did the song, then, ‘I wish you the best, we should do it more often.'”

For Fresh, who has also had his financial gripes with Cash Money in the past, the beef between Weezy and Baby is very similar to a family feud—after all Wayne did sign to Cash Money when he was just nine years old. “I still consider them family,” Mannie told Genius. “Family—you have things, you go through disagreements. We still have issues. If anyone was gonna put it back together, it was me. Everyone was happy to do it.”

Thanks to Fresh’s efforts, Wayne and Juvie reportedly have a few more songs together and the super producer plans on making it a pullout reunion by adding verses from Turk and B.G. Outside of working with the old Hot Boyz and CM crew, Manny is also focused on his solo effort for Mass Appeal. “This project that I’m doing now on Mass Appeal isn’t really about the Hot Boys or Cash Money—it’s about Mannie Fresh,” he said. “I just wanted to open it up with that to show that we can overcome whatever. Everybody’s screaming for it—’We want that good feel music back!’ I’m gonna bring it to you.”
