The legendary George Clinton did an interview with Pigeons and Planes that revealed a lot about his work with Kendrick Lamar. But the most interesting excerpt for Kendrick fans came when Clinton revealed that the two have some unreleased music in the vaults.

"I did two or three other ones with him when we were recording, but I don’t know what’s going to happen to them," Clinton said. "We just worked on a video with Ice Cube for 'Ain’t That Funkin’…' that’ll be out soon. It’s going be very interesting for people to see it."

As fans know from Kendrick Lamar's untitled unmastered. release, that music could pop up years from now. George Clinton did say that one of the tracks from that project actually featured a verse Kendrick originally recorded for a Funkadelic song.

"When I did 'Wesley’s Theory' we did a trade off," Clinton explained. "The first verse on 'untitled 08 | 09.06.2014' was originally written for my song with Louie Vega, 'Ain’t That Funkin’ Kinda Hard On You?”

George Clinton had some very high praise for Kendrick Lamar as well. The Parliament leader said Kendrick would fit right in with funk's top artists if he was around 50 years ago.

"He reminds me of Sly Stone in the way he’s poetic and political, but also very inclusive of everybody in the mainstream," Clinton explained. "Kendrick is pointing out the faults of himself and greater society at the same time. When you can tell the truth like that and still appeal to the kids, still have street cred, you’re doing something really good. To me, that’s what younger artists are supposed to do, they’re supposed to simplify shit and take it back to the beginning."
