Frank Ocean may finally be ready to drop his sophomore LP. At least, that's according to his producer Malay.

Sitting down for an interview with Pitchfork, Malay, a longtime collaborator of Ocean, gave an update on the album Ocean fans have been waiting four years for.

"When he's ready, the world is gonna get it," Malay noted. "It could be tomorrow… well not tomorrow but maybe a month," laughed Malay. "I feel like he's working harder than he's ever worked in his life. I'm excited for everyone to hear it. I think people are going to be pleasantly surprised, for sure."

It's been a long-running joke in hip-hop that Frank is never dropping his sophomore album. After being thrust into superstardom thanks to his 2012 debut album channel ORANGE and winning the 2013 Grammy for Best Urban Contemporary Album, the Long Beach by way of Louisiana crooner reacted to the follow up pressure by secluding himself from the public eye.

It was reported that his new album would come in July of 2015, but as the summer came and went, fans grew even more restless. In January of this year, Rich The Kid tweeted a photo of a FaceTime conversation between him and Frank, relighting the hopeful fire among his fan base. Rich The Kid gave XXL details about the phone call, saying "I reached out to him. I called him on FaceTime and I was like “Where you at?” and he was like, “I’m in L.A. at the studio and it’s time to cook.”"

Malay, who's recently worked with Yelawolf and former One Direction member Zayn Malik as well, was one of Ocean's main producers on channel ORANGE, so this intel, combined with the rumblings of an L.A. listening party last month, is welcomed news for Frank fans who are tired of waiting. Stay tuned.
