Wiz Khalifa used his moment at the 2016 Golden Globe Awards Sunday night (Jan. 10) to provide a pivotal piece of information about his forthcoming album, Khalifa. The rapper revealed the release date during a red carpet interview before the main event.

"I got a new album on the way. It’s coming out Jan. 22,” he told E!’s Giuliana Rancic. “I came off of two really successful tours this year, so we’re gearing up for some more tours now."

Fresh off the release of his Cabin Fever 3 mixtape, the Khalifa LP will serve as the follow-up to 2014's Blacc Hollywood. The MC has been hard at work finishing the new project while balancing family time. "I just been working, hanging out with my son, Sebastian," the 28-year-old continued. "I got my mom here now. Stuff like this, the Golden Globes, and just new opportunities gonna open it up for me and the gang this whole year. So shout out the Taylor Gang."

Peachie Wimbush, Wiz's mother, was by her son's side on the red carpet, supporting him at his very first Golden Globe Awards ceremony. The mother-son duo, wearing matching black-and-white threads, left the serious business for the actors and signaled their love for weed by smoking on imaginary joints as they posed for the cameras. He even showed love for mom dukes by planting a kiss on her cheek.

Wiz's lauded track "See You Again," from the Furious 7 soundtrack, was nominated for Best Original Song at the awards. However, singer Sam Smith ended up taking the honor for his song "Writing's on the Wall" featured in the film Spectre.

Despite not walking away a winner, from the looks of his time on the red carpet, work hard, play hard is his motto.
