J. Cole technically didn't release any solo records in 2015, but his presence was felt nonetheless. His late-entry record from the previous year, 2014 Forest Hills Drive, continued to reverberate through hip-hop's mainstream ranks, with singles like "Wet Dreamz" earning plenty of radio play. A forthcoming HBO documentary, J. Cole Forest Hills Drive: Homecoming, chronicles a show he played in his hometown of Fayetteville, North Carolina. Today (Jan. 6), the fourth episode of his Road to Homecoming series has been made available online.

The previous three installments can be seen here (1, 2, 3). The full version airs this Saturday, Jan. 9 at 10 p.m. EST on HBO.

Cole's most recent creative project was Revenge of the Dreamers II, a nine-song compilation tape from his Interscope imprint, Dreamville Records. In addition to showcasing his previous partners like Bas and Omen, the record introduced two new signings: the Charlotte rapper lute and the Washington, D.C.-bred singer Ari Lennox. They were joined by Cozz, the rapper from South Central Los Angeles who signed to the imprint last year.

The tour caught on film was one of many last year that featured a variety of artists, from YG and Jeremih to Big Sean and Jhene Aiko. Throughout his career, Cole has made a concerted effort to hit cities and venues that are usually passed over by bigger tours.

The HBO special itself and a collected version of the documentary episodes are expected to be released to DVD some time this year. After this Saturday, the episodes will be scrubbed from the Internet.
