In an interview with Bloomberg, RZA let it be known that the $2 million check for the Wu-Tang Clan's Once Upon a Time in Shaolin has already been cashed. RZA reaffirmed that the infamous buyer of LP, Martin Shkreli, can do whatever he pleases with the album.

"He bought it, he can do what he wants,” RZA said. “Art -- the beautiful thing about art, from my standpoint, is that it has no discrimination. What we’ve done is historical, and you can’t remove that.”

The abbot of the Wu-Tang Clan spoke about his own brief meeting with Shkreli, who was arrested on security fraud charges last month.

"I met him, we had a brief lunch, and he did mention his love of hip-hop,” RZA said in the interview with Bloomberg. “I didn’t get a chance to read him. We talked briefly about where he comes from, briefly about what Wu-Tang means.”

RZA explained that he was not directly involved in sale of the album. The sale was already completed by the time any of the Wu-Tang Clan members found out the identity of the buyer.

"If you want me to make a beat, come to the RZA, I can handle that,” he said. “If you want me to auction off or sell a painting, that’s not my business, so I put it in the hands of professionals.”

For Wu-Tang Clan fans who are hopeful to hear Once Upon a Time in Shaolin, RZA made it clear that Shkreli can make it happen.

"If Mr. Shkreli feels philanthropic, he has the power to do something really cool, you know what I mean?” RZA said. “He could do something that would allow more people to hear the record.”

RZA also dispelled the widespread rumor that Bill Murray was legally allowed to steal the album.

"Bill Murray's not in the contract," RZA said.
