The worlds of sports and music are forever overlapping, with artists sitting court side, athletes training with headphones on and the extra special cross platform romance. Rumors had linked Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving to singer Kehlani and the two confirmed Sunday night (Jan. 10) that they are indeed dating. "Nothing else really matters when I'm with you...and That's when I knew I had someone special... as sappy as they come lol" Irving wrote on Instagram.

Irving joins teammate Iman Shumpert in locking down an R&B singing better half with Shumpert and G.O.O.D. music signee Teyana Taylor giving birth to their first son in December of 2015. Both Shumpert and Irving have been plagued by injuries this season, with Irving playing in nine of the Cavs 35 games this season while Shumpert has been active for 13.

Kehlani has previously been linked to Toronto's PARTYNEXTDOOR, but suspicion arose when she posted a photo on Instagram last week of herself watching a Cavs home game on a laptop. Kehlani herself followed up Irving's post with one of her own, further confirming the affection the two share for one another. As a couple, they join Iggy Azalea and Nick "Swaggy P" Young and Russell Wilson and Ciara as high profile athlete and musician pairings.

The Cavaliers are 26-9 holding the top seed in the Eastern Conference having won eight of their last 10 games. With Kehlani in their corner now, perhaps the LeBron-led Cavs can get over the hump and deliver their city a much sought-after championship.
