At first glance, it may seem like presently incarcerated rapper Bobby Shmurda doesn't have anything to do with fur trading in the 1820s, and yet a connection exists. While promoting their new film The Revenant, actors Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hardy revealed that a Shmurda line was cut from the final product.

In the film, both DiCaprio and Hardy play frontiersmen on a fur trading expedition, though their characters become at odds with one another, resulting in DiCaprio's Hugh Glass being abandoned. DiCaprio recalls the fun Hardy had playing one particular scene, and at the 2:52 mark, Hardy says, "I said 'shut your trap house' as well, which never made the cut. The Bobby Shmurda line."

The interviewer misses a choice opportunity to follow-up asking Hardy about his rap tastes or Shmurda fandom, but with the above video making the viral rounds, it's likely that Hardy will encounter something similar soon. The line he is referencing is of course "And if you ain't a ho, get up out my trap house."

Shmurda entered the news again last month after his motion for bail was denied for a sixth time. Pharmaceutical millionaire Martin Shkreli had considered posting Shmurda's bond to spring the rapper out of jail, but Shkreli found himself in legal trouble shortly after, having been arrested on security fraud charges.

The Revenant opened nationwide on Jan. 8 and is gaining attention for its realistic portrayal of wildlife and nature as well as its potential to yield Leonardo DiCaprio his first Oscar.
