Queen Latifah Calls Nicki Minaj an Inspiration to Women Everywhere

Nicki Minaj might not have released a new project this year, but it's still be an impactful time for the Queens rapper. 2015 has seen Nicki Minaj headline a world tour as well as win multiple awards, including her recent win at the American Music Awards. Minaj is getting one more honor as she's featured in VH1's Big in 2015 with Entertainment Weekly. At the ceremony, hip-hop legend Queen Latfiah heaped praise on Nicki Minaj for all she's done.

“You are a force within the hip-hop community," Queen Latifah said. "You’ve become an inspiration to women everywhere. I love how you’re never afraid to speak your mind. You’re a strong woman, you refuse to be backed into a corner."

Queen Latifah also made it clear that Nicki Minaj has already built an enduring legacy that can never be discredited

"You’ve established yourself as one of the greats and no one can take that away from you," Latifah added.

The Big in 2015 ceremony will air Dec. 7 on VH1. Amy Schumer, Taraji P. Henson and the cast of Straight Outta Compton are among the other honorees featured in the event.
