Kanye West Plays ‘Swish’ for Lamar Odom in the Hospital

Kanye West's fans have been waiting with bated breath for his seventh studio album, but one man may have just gotten the full preview.

It's been just under two months since Lamar Odom was found unconscious in his room at a Nevada brothel. The former NBA star was rushed to a Las Vegas hospital, where he was rumored to have been given a grave prognosis--rumors swirled that Odom was dying, had died or would be braindead. Former teammates poured in to see him; Kobe Bryant reportedly left a pre-season game early to drive himself to the hospital. Lil Wayne even tweeted a 'rest in peace' message, convinced that Odom had already passed away.

But in the last month, his condition has reportedly improved, to the point where he's been transferred to a hospital in his longtime home of Los Angeles. Throughout the process, Khloe Kardashian has been at his side; the reality star was once married to Odom, and the two put their divorce proceedings on hold when they reconnected during the ordeal.

Of course, with Khloe comes the entire Kardashian clan. (The family reportedly visited Lamar at the hospital on the same day Kim Kardashian West gave birth Saint West, her second child with husband Kanye West.) And now, a video from the Kardashian-Jenner Thanksgiving celebration indicates that West played his long-awaited Swish for Odom in his hospital room.

The video, which subscribers to Khloe's personal app can see in full here, or which is excerpted on the Team Kanye Daily Twitter account, shows Khloe asking everyone what they're thankful for. Kanye's the first to answer, saying, "I'm thankful that Lamar liked my album." At that point, a very pregnant Kim explains: "We did visit Lamar today and we played him [Kanye's] new album, and then when I was done I said, 'Did you like the music?' and he said, 'I loved it.'"

Little is known about Swish, Kanye's first solo effort since 2013's sparse, divisive Yeezus. Though longtime collaborator and new G.O.O.D. Music president Pusha T recently sang the album's praises, fans have been left to wonder, after a trio of singles came out in the first three months of 2015, only for nothing concrete about the LP to emerge. One of those songs, the Allan Kingdom- and Paul McCartney-featuring "All Day," was yesterday (Dec. 7) nominated for a Grammy.
