2 Chainz Gives a Minivan to a Family in Need

When Tity Boi reemerged as 2 Chainz, he found previously unthinkable levels of commercial success--but his identity was often crammed into 40-second cameos and endless strings of quotable punchlines. Recently he's been showing a different, more considered side, and that can be seen more clearly than ever in his latest act of kindness: donating a mini-van to a family in need.

2 Chainz apparently caught word of an Atlanta family with four children who had lost their house to a fire this September. The children were trapped inside while it burned--the mother and her two sons were in medically-induced comas for more than a week after the incident. (One of the two daughters suffered from injuries due to the smoke.) Antonio, who at 7 years old is the youngest child, suffered brain damage due to the carbon monoxide.

Though the family was able to relocate, they had no means of transportation--especially not one sufficient to bring the wheelchair-bound Antonio to his physical therapy appointments. So 2 Chainz, through his T.R.U. Foundation, gifted the family a van that has been set up to accommodate all its members. The Atlanta rapper, who recently recently welcomed a son into the world, is no rookie to the charity game. Earlier this month, he offered to pay a disabled veteran's rent for an entire year while she continues to look for work and to provide for her. He also surprised the family with new furniture. If you're interested in aiding the cause, part of the proceeds from those sweaters are earmarked for projects like these.
