For the second year in a row, Danny Brown will perform in his hometown Detroit as part of his Bruiser Brigade Thanksgiving Show and Pledge Drive. The show will take place on Nov. 25 at Detroit's Majestic Theater.

Brown has partnered up with InsideOut, Detroit's City Wide Poets Project (CWP) and will help the Detroit Public School Systems and CWP by leading a city wide poetry workshop for teens and young adults. A short teaser trailer has been released for the show and weekend, known as Bruiser Thanksgiving 2.

Thanksgiving-inspired acts of charity are nothing new for the hip-hop community, with turkey giveaways spanning the continent each year. Danny's added emphasis though on returning to his community reminds that turmoil still plagues the city.

Danny has ben touring as of late, popping up at the Tyler, the Creator and A$AP Rocky show in New York City this past September.

Donations for the pledge drive can be made on Danny's InsideOut page. The Drive will go through Nov. 12 and aims to put a poet in every Detroit classroom.

The Detroit rapper has been working on his album. Brown's last album was released in 2013. The XXX rapper announced earlier this year that he is also grinding away on a children’s book, one that has apparently taken him “forever” to complete. “It’s really about self-esteem in black girls,” he explain. “You know how black women do so much–process their hair, change their eye color. It’s really about a little girl who does all these things to herself and changes herself and she realizes she’s just better off the way she is.”
