The Roots Are Going on Tour

The Roots are going on a mini tour. The crew announced the dates for their Holiday Tour. The four stops are only in the North East. With their regular duties on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon, The Roots usually don’t have time to hit the road as often as they can. The Roots Holiday Tour will kick off the day after Christmas in New York and will wrap up in Boston on Jan. 2. Full dates plus ticket buy links for The Roots Holiday Tour are below.

The band also is the executive producers of the cast recording of Hamilton, the hip-hop musical about the life of Alexander Hamilton. The show is receiving rave reviews and opened in August. The album was released digitally through Atlantic Records. It debuted No. 1 on Billboard's "Top Broadway Albums" chart, No. 3 on the “Top Rap Albums” chart, No. 9 on the “Top Current Albums” chart and No. 12 on Billboard’s “Top 200.” This debut made Hamilton (Original Broadway Cast Recording) the second biggest first week sales ever for a cast recording behind only Rent in the Nielsen SoundScan era. Physical copies of the 2-disc album arrives in stores on Oct. 16.
