When people talk about hip-hop in the 2000s, there's little doubt the conversation begins and ends with the Kanye Wests and Lil Waynes of the world. The two stars towered over the decade, releasing a handful of platinum albums and asserting their styles over legions of disciples and imitators. But there's another artist whose presence was nearly as potent, whose cadence and verbal tics are just finally seeping their way into Top 40. With little presence at national radio and almost none on television, Gucci Mane nevertheless forged a career as a cult hero, and spawned a cottage industry of rappers around him. Waka Flocka Flame and Young Thug can trace their origins back to Gucci's home studio, as can a litany of other Atlanta stars. Now, from behind bars, he fights to keep his name in the headlines and his voice in rotation.

His latest mixtape is the soundtrack for his film, The Spot. That flick, due out this month, is directed by Mr. Boomtown and features appearances from Keyshia Ka’oir, Rocko, OJ Da Juiceman and Young Scooter, alongside comedians Shawty Shawty and Kelly Walker. Few details are available about the script or the national availability, but XXL will continue to have updates as they become available. The soundtrack features guest turns from K Camp, Trinidad James, Rich Homie Quan, Young Dolph, YFN Lucci, Flocka, PeeWee Longway and more. Stream it in its entirety below:
