In 2015, is there any reason not to be a Renaissance Man? Not according to Childish Gambino.

Donald Glover a.k.a Childish Gambino returns to the small screen as FX green lights his self-written rags to riches series, Atlanta.

Created and written by the 32-year-old, Atlanta will follow a pair of cousins trying to make their rap career take off in one of America's musical meccas. Gambino will write and star as protagonist Earnest "Earn" Marks, who returns to his hometown of the ATL hoping to prosper. The show will also star Zazie Beetz, Brian Tyree Henry and Lakeith Lee Stanfield. FX has ordered ten episodes of the series.

"Atlanta draws on Donald’s considerable talents as a musician, actor, and writer to give us something unique," President of FX Original Programming Nick Grad told Variety after the announcement was made today (Oct. 15).

In addition to his sporadic role in the rap world, the "3005" MC is no stranger to the big or small screen. He's guest starred on HBO's Girls, was a cast member on the NBC comedy, Community, and most recently held down a supporting role in the sci-fi film, The Martian. Atlanta is set to premiere on FX in 2016.
