Try as it might to reduce him down to a sentient string of one-liners, the universe can't stop 2 Chainz. According to posts on his Instagram and Twitter accounts, it appears that the Atlanta rapper recently welcomed his third child--and first son--into the world. A baby boy named Halo came into the world early this morning (Oct. 14), and can be seen above cradled in his father's arms. At press time, details as to height, weight, the mother's health and so on were unavailable, but judging by the father's posts, everything went more or less according to plan. Halo joins 2 Chainz's two daughters, Heaven and Harmony. On this August's Trap-A-Velli Tre mixtape, the artist formerly known as Tity Boi rapped from the perspective of an unborn Halo on the song "Halo (Letter From My Unborn Son)." That track's first verse takes aim at some of Mr. Chainz's own vices, similar to "Fetus," the famous song from Nas' Lost Tapes.

Under his former name, 2 Chainz rose to prominence as a member of Playaz Circle. Best known for their massive, Lil Wayne-helmed hit "Duffle Bag Boy," they eventually disbanded. Chainz remade himself as an immutable feature machine, becoming a fixture on the pop charts by the time his 2012 debut, Based on a T.R.U. Story hit shelves. Since then, he's been trying to recapture that level of fame, to differing (but often fascinating) results. Listen to "Halo (Letter From My Unborn Son)" below, and wish him congratulations:
