The meteoric rise of New Jersey's own Fetty Wap is hitting its peak this week with the release of his debut self-titled album. While the project officially drops tomorrow, NPR got its hands on it early as part of its "First Listen" series. Featuring the hits that put him on the map ("Trap Queen," "My Way," etc.) and new joints, Fetty keeps things in-house with fellow Remy Boy Monty the only guest appearance and the production done by other members of RGF Productions.

Fetty's monstrous sound has helped him go on an incredible run in 2015. "Trap Queen" put him on the map, but certainly wasn't the only hit he had up his sleeve. The music kept coming, racking up hundreds of millions of streams on his SoundCloud page, and tearing up the clubs and radio waves (enough that New York disc jockeys claimed the proud Paterson, New Jersey native as their own). Soon 300 Entertainment came knocking and Fetty hasn't looked back since. XXL put the singer/rapper on the cover of its 2015 Freshman cover and he may turn out to be the group's biggest star. During the interview portion, Fetty laid out his goals for the near future. "I just feel blessed. Now we’re going to keep making new music. I want to accomplish my family not ever having to work again," he said. "Once I finish that, I feel like I can accomplish everything. What it means to be a XXL Freshman to me is a good fan base, a good following, great music, leadership, humbleness and basically not giving up on yourself. Even if you weren’t going to make the Freshman list, in your heart you can still make it." Stream Fetty Wap below:
