Back in March, De La Soul initiated a Kickstarter fund to help raise money for a new project. Within 24 hours, the rap collective surpassed their goal of $100,000. To date, they have managed to raise $600,874 from the support of 11,169 fans. The money will be put toward And The Anonymous Nobody, the trio's first album since 2004's The Grind Date. The group announced that Damon Albarn, David Byrne, 2 Chainz and Little Dragon were be among the featured artists on the album. Byrne's track is apparently called "Snoopies," while 2 Chainz appears on "Whodini" and Little Dragon on "Drawn." In a recent update on their Kickstarter page, Dave, Maseo and Posdnuos have added a few other rappers and singers to the project, including Snoop Dogg, Estelle, Usher, Pete Rock and Roc Marciano.

The group also provided a few updates regarding the project, apologizing for the delay in its release.  "We're working hard to get this album sounding right for your vents to receive," wrote De La Soul. "Please accept our apologies for the delay in updates. The work to complete this album has increased, but progress is still in forward motion." As of right now, And the Anonymous Nobody still doesn't have a release date. The New York rappers also provided a short clip of Grammy-Award winning producer Bob Power working on their album. Take a look at the video over on the group's Kickstarter page.
