Talib Kweli has been as vocal as ever concerning the recent Black Lives Matter movement. In January, he appeared on The Nightly Show to discuss the Ferguson protests. Last month, he spoke up for the cause when ESPN talking head Stephen A. Smith tried to question the movement on Twitter. Earlier this week he threw a benefit concert in honor of Mike Brown in Ferguson. He also recently defended protesters who interrupted Bernie Sanders, on Bill Maher.

“The job of activism is not to be liked and not to be polite,” Kweli said on HBO’s Real Time With Bill Maher . "Bernie Sanders is not the problem,” Maher said while also pointing out that Sanders has “a 100 percent approval rating from the NAACP.” However the hip-hop vet stood his ground.

“Just because somebody has a record of civil rights doesn’t mean they are automatically entitled to the black vote,” said Kweli. “It’s very possible to be progressive and still have no understanding of racial issues.”

We all know Lil B is pro-Bernie Sanders. Lil B sat down with CNN and explained why he’s supporting Bernie Sanders for the 2016 Presidential Campaign and not Hillary Clinton, who he initially was backing.

“Once the people started telling me about Bernie Sanders and comparing what he was doing back in his younger days and what she was doing, it made me kind of look at her different — not really respect her as much as I thought,” B said.
