Drake Costs Kentucky University an NCAA Violation, School Issues Him Cease-and-Desist Order

It looks like Drake's woes don't end at ghostwriting allegations. According to NBC Sports, the rapper has been issued a cease-and-desist order by Kentucky University after his actions at last year's Big Blue Madness forced the school to self-report an NCAA violation. The letter, obtained by The Sporting News, says that the school reported on April 27 of this year that Drake had had contact with three 'potential student-athletes' during his stop in Lexington last fall. KU says in the letter that  "NCAA rules prohibited the institution from arranging contact between [Drake] and the PSAs as this would be an NCAA violation," and that the rapper and his management team were informed of this upon his arrival. In fact, sources say that the basketball program placed staffers strategically throughout the arena's corridors to prevent him from coming into contact with recruits. The effort was for naught, as evidenced by the photo class of 2015 star Chris Matthews posted with the rapper.

The letter reportedly asks Drake to "refrain from conversations with prospects or taking photos with prospects when that conversation or photo occurs outside the parameters established by the NCAA." Oddly enough, this isn't Drake's first violation in the eyes of one of basketball's governing bodies. Last year, the NBA fined the Toronto Raptors $25,000 for comments the rapper made at one of his shows that urged Oklahoma City forward Kevin Durant to sign with Toronto. Drake serves as the Raptors' "global ambassador."
