DMX has been sentenced to six months in prison. The verdict stems from a family court violation, which the Ruff Ryder rapper failed to comply with a previous court order. About almost a month ago on June 26, X was arrested in New York City just before his planned appearance at Masters of Ceremony, an old school hip-hop show that took place at the Radio City Music Hall. Dark Man X, whose real name is Earl Simmons, was arrested for unpaid child support. He reportedly owed about $400,000 in unpaid funds in Erie County and there was a warrant out for his arrest. He reportedly also had outstanding traffic violations. According to the local broadcaster WIVB, DMX has “a history of crime in Erie County, including over child support and traffic violations.”

Now, Family Court Judge Deanne Trippi has determined the 44-year-old rapper's punishment. DMX will serve his time at the Erie County Holding Center in Buffalo, N.Y., a facility described as a "pretrial maximum security detention facility." WIVB reports that the Yonkers MC made his way to the facility yesterday (July 14).

This is just the latest in X's legal troubles this year. Back in April, the Undisputed rapper was accused of robbing a man at a gas station in New Jersey. The man claimed DMX stole $3,200 from his hand before driving off in a convoy. X and his lawyer, however, have both publicly denied the allegations. DMX went as far as to say the robbery claim against him is the work of the devil and the forces of evil.
